We are Patrick and Patience Walden and we have
owned and loved Beagles since 1978. That was the year we
purchased Houndsmark Mulberry from the late Mollie Field. Due to
the fact that she kept getting out of our garden in London we
bought a Basset Hound to keep her company!

In due course Mulberry was mated to Champion
Barterhound Hammerlyn and from that litter we kept 2 pups,
Nedlaw Nutmeg and Nedlaw Night Owl (see Our Dogs link for
pictures). Night Owl became the sire of the late great Ch
Julemark Hotspur By Nedlaw (Harvey) bred by Maureen Dundas.
Maureen could not put up with Harvey's
naughty, noisy ways so we went into partnership, he stayed here
with us and I showed him. He ended up with 23 CC's, 16 with Best
of Breed. He was Best of Breed at Crufts in 1990 and 1991 and
had many Best in Show awards at club Ch shows. The greatest
highlight of his show career was Best In Show all breeds at
Windsor Champ show.
All our Beagles are descended from Harvey and
when Pat Sutton (Rossut) had a litter by him she allowed me to
have Rossut Duster By Nedlaw who became our new stud dog once we
lost Harvey. Duster has proved himself to be an excellent sire
and is behind a lot of winning youngsters namely Ch Nedlaw
Salamander, Ch Nedlaw Barbarian, Ch Nedlaw Troubadour, Ch Rossut
Razzle and many others.
Both Patrick and I judge and give tickets
(CC's) in both Beagles and Basset Hounds. We have judged not
only all over the UK but also Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark
in Europe and were also thrilled to have judged in Australia and
New Zealand. We have been members of the Kennel Club for many
years.

of Breed Beagle in Belgium.
